Hi, I currently have some containers running from my NAS via NFS. The NAS has a ZFS filesystem, which has snapshots.

What kind of data does vzdump save, besides the container's filesystem? I wonder if I can replace my daily vzdumps with a ZFS snapshot of the containers. That would be much cheaper.

PD: Yes, I have already seen this, but it's beta.

just to note, a snapshot is not a backup archive.

a vzdump backup can be stored off-site, and also recovered on any Proxmox VE host.
