hi,
We have an 8 TB disk on proxmox.
When we first want to make a backup to the proxmox backup server, it takes about 10 hours.
Is it possible to reduce this time?

unfortunately no, at least not without increasing the IO performance of your storage or network or whatever the bottleneck is for your system. You can try to benchmark the performance of your system using proxmox-backup-client benchmark. For the first backup you will have to upload all the data to the chunkstore, for later ones only the chunks containing data which changed with respect to the last one, de-duplicating unchanged data. This will be faster then.
 
8 TB will take 10 hours to just read (at 233MB/s!) - and obviously you need to at least read what you backup.. how fast is your storage? taking your 118MB/s upload/TLS speed, I assume the 8TB are referring to total size, not used. 10 hours at ~115MB/s would be ~4TB of transferred data, although you probably won't be able to reach that theoretical maximum..
