backup client on ubuntu 16 and 18

Good Morning

I have fresh install of promox backup server , looking at taking a snapshot/backup on a couple old servers on ubuntu :

Ubuntu 16.04.7 LTS and Ubuntu 18 Both server are physical machines I would like to know how to install or backup up these machines onto my proxmox server, before i attempt to upgrade them. Thank you

Sorry think this is suppose to be in the proxmox backup thread , not sure how to move it.

we don't have a build for those old versions.. what you could do is boot a Debian-12 live CD, install the client there and either backup the raw disk images, or mount the disks and backup the dir tree..
