Auto-recovery of a VM to a local storage of another node with PBS

Hello, everyone.

I could not find an answer to my question in the forum. So I am asking my question here.
I hope someone could at least hint me to a right direction for my question.

- And I wonder...if this is possible with the current HA functionality:
When a node goes down, VM is restored to a different node by recovering from PBS to a local storage of that new node and the VM is automatically started. I have no shared storage. I have no volumes with all the same names.


- Or, Is there a way to setup a custom script in Proxmox so that a VM with local storage could be restored to a different node on its local storage through PBS when a node fails on me??

Please start reading the HA docs first.

As you suggested, I went over the HA documentation.
I wish it had a reference to any hook or method for running a custom recovery script when a VM goes down.
But the documentation has no mention of it.

Or, I wished that PBS could be an option for HA in addition to a shared storage, and volumes with same names across all nodes.

My question was regarding this very specific scenario that is currently not covered by the official documentation, which is trying to make HA functionality work with PBS. If such scenario is not supported, I wanted to know if there is any API or hook that is available for me to utilize as a workaround. I already understand that HA functionality in its current state does not need PBS.

I guess my only option would be setting up my own custom monitor that checks if VMs are up and run a custom script against Proxmox VE to restore those downed VMs from PBS.
