apache2 is still running with 3.1

I did all that was noted when I upgraded to 3.0. Now, upgraded to 3.1 and I note apache2 is still running, even without there being an /etc/apache2 directory. Do I need to manually erase every file I have to has apache2 in it's name throughout the various directories?

Also, I don't see any difference in the ugraded admin screen, and I don't see "hardware" as in the example for spice. I hope I haven't borked this server! Ric

Remove apache:

> apt-get purge apache*

and check if you got latest packates, compare your list with 'pveversion -v':

Yep, all the same or slightly newer from an update/upgrade.

Did that and now I cannot ssh or login with browser. Nothing to do from here but wait until I go to the office to crank it back up. I followed all the scripts and how-to for version 3.0. then just dist-upgraded to 3.1. Since it has gone down serveral times complaining about an irq issue. When I get running again, I'll post what I find in the logs. THANX! Ric

No idea why SSH would stop, that is really odd.

Once you remove apache there is no redirect to the :8006 address.
You have to use a url like this to get to the GUI:

https://my.server.name:8006

Right, that is what I use. Unforch, I can't ssh in either. BAD! Office is about 80 miles away, and it appears staff is taking this laborday holiday to heart. Thanks for your time though! With our non-profit/volunteers it's hard at times to reach anyone to get them to do my legwork, like press a reset button. We had a Dell server (like new) donated. IF I can get this machine back up, I really need to cluster the two for fall back. As long as the instructions are good, I can follow them. Thanx! Ric

BTW, when you have a monent would you do a 'locate apache' to see if you still have any apache related files? I'm a long time Linux user and I usually install fresh, after backups. It might have been better if I had done that. You never know what get's orphaned in the process of a dist upgrade. Ric
