Apache Error 500 'Internal Server Error'

I'm not able to send email from PostMox postfix configuration, see thread http://forum.proxmox.com/threads/1694-set-up-email-for-notification?highlight=email .

So I've installed ssmtp an MTA that is very easy to configure. It works from the best time, and I can send email from the command line, and also notification emaul are sent.

I installed ssmtp (aptitute install), configured it (ssmtp.conf), and made a logical link to sendmail ln -s /usr/sbin/ssmtp /usr/sbin/sendmail

Problem is that when I try to access web config of ProxMox, I obtain this error 500.

Virtual machines are running, mail is sent every backup, but I can not access web config.
On /var/log/apache2/error.log I can see two kinds of errors:

Any hint to what I've broken ??

You removed the pve-manager package (which depends on postfix)?!

yes, but re-installing our packages - but this will also install postfix again.

Thanks Tom apt-get install pve-manager restored postfix and pve-manager and restored the system to working status.
Unfortunately it removed ssmtp and again, I can not get mail....
Any other MTA that I can test?
-Or a working copy of config files to use postfix with gmail?

Why do you want to involve gmail for sending mails?

I was trying to use gmail as a 'standard' because every Proxmox user can have free access to it.
My current mail server requires authentification and using port 587. I've trying to config postfix, for all my 'spare' time for more that one month without success...
Seems that postfix is a very powerfull program, but very difficut to implement.

I was able to config ssmtp for both gmail and my current server in a few minutes...
