I have had a bunch of these servers colocated and never had a problem with PM 6.3 on them. We received a new one recently and it was shipped to a remote data center. It is supposed to be clustered with a PM 5.2 machine (older R610) so I attempted to install PM 5.4 on it. It installed fine, recognized the NICs (the Dell R630 has 4 of them as standard) and I configured the BIOS and disconnected IDRAC from the NICs.
I have a very basic network config, and it shows that the NIC1 (ENO1) is up. I have the IPs set to it just fine.
But no Ping at all. It could be a DC issue, but before I try and diagnose this with the Ops at the DC, I wanted to know if anyone had any positive experience with the R630s and PM 5 installations in the past? I realize this is pretty old, but hoping someone had some memories of this.
