without any further information I'd assume this might be related to this kernel patch? [1] If everything else is working fine, you are probably better off waiting for the fixes to make it into one of our regular updates.

Makes sense, When the passthrough gpu/monitor goes into power saving mode it doesn't seem to cause an issue.
Only on host boot does it sometimes fail with a memory allocation error but it starts manually after that ok.
I'm sure I can wait for this.
