Fresh install of ProxMox version 6.2-4.

I have 2 x 1.2 TB HDD SAS on a Dell R630, mode AHCI, presented directed to OS (NBA) and I choose, at install point of ProxMox - Harddisk option: zfs (RAID1)
At that point I can see: /dev/sda - 1.2Tb and /dev/sdb 1.2 TB

At first login I see that Storage is under Datacenter not under Nodes. (see pict1)
I see rpool health but when I tried on Nodes to create ZFS there is No Disk unused, so I can't do it (see pict2)

Where I'm wrong ?
Thank you !

hi,

yes that's how it should be.

I see rpool health but when I tried on Nodes to create ZFS there is No Disk unused, so I can't do it (see pict2)
because you've set up RAID1 and used both your disks?

If you've set up RAID1, both disks will be in use already. RAID1 is a mirror, it uses 2 disks and writes data to both so should one disk die, you can still access your data.

On this ProxMox install on Dell R630 whit this spec (see pict 3) I need to install 2 VMs:
- one Debian with Moodle - a lot of traffic on site, about 300 user
- one Debian which will be a Streaming Server for IP cams (40 pcs), streaming in Moodle web page

Anybody, please recommend number of Socket and Cores / every VMs.
Thank you !

i would just go with any decent number of cores in the beginning, and check the performance for a while then adjust accordingly.
