Advice for HA cluster

Hi forum, I need some advice to mount the HA on three servers with proxmox 5.1, I have a shared storage with iSCSI and multipath, my servers are Supermicro X9DRL-3F / iF , with 64gb ram each, 6 network interfaces, and two processors of 6 cores, in version 3 to version 5 there are some changes in high availability, I have been documenting about this new version and I have some doubts?

I create a group to add the vm that I want to be in HA and then I add the vm to this group. ----> with this is enough?

I have also seen that there are some in the forum that activate IPMI Watchdog, is it necessary to complement HA?
