Im hoping you may be to guide or advise me with the following problem I have. I did have an Open Media Vault (OMV) install with the latest version using initially for Plex for my media and was hoping also to use for VR as well. That didn't work as i hoped for so now have installed Proxmox with OMV as a VR. That all works great and of course for the extra VR's that I want to try, but my problem is that all my previous Plex data is on 3 2TB disks configured as Raid 5. If i connected them would they connect and work, would they have to be independently added to OMV.

I am new to the Linux community and have been using various distros and now starting to settle down to my personal needs, and would appreciate any help and guidance you can give.

Hello Team

I created a Proxmox server with OMV to control a software RAID 5 system. Everything is good up to here. I started running out of space on the main drive and I wanted to move to a larger disk. A direct copy of the existing partitions and file system failed so I created a new install of Proxmox and the VMs. Everything runs and I could use a few of the vm backups to restore. The challenge is adding the existing RAID 5 drives back into the OMV VM. Promox can detect the drives and they are listed as a linux_raid_member. Below is some data that might help. I have 4 drives in a RAID 5 and 2 drives on a Marvell RAID 1 hardware card.

command to bind the drive and error
root@superfortress:~# qm set 120 –sata2 /dev/disk/by-partuuid/c533bde7-2756-734b-bd6a-58a9449a2750
400 too many arguments
qm set <vmid> [OPTIONS]

results from cfdisk /dev/sdb for one drive

Partition UUID: C533BDE7-2756-734B-BD6A-58A9449A2750
Partition type: Linux filesystem (0FC63DAF-8483-4772-8E79-3D69D8477DE4)
Filesystem UUID: eecf9c1a-5207-64ac-88d0-9cbb8fdbc8c1
Filesystem LABEL: openmedia:0
Filesystem: linux_raid_member

UUID="eecf9c1a-5207-64ac-88d0-9cbb8fdbc8c1" UUID_SUB="95978dbe-a47c-2d54-c442-ad99db6811da" LABEL="openmedia:0" TYPE="linux_raid_member" PARTUUID="c533bde7-2756-734b-bd6a-58a9449a2750"

There are three different uuid values. When I follow instructions and documents there is no outline for a multiple uuid situation. The question is: which partuuid do I use to add the drives back into OMV? How are the command options arranged to ensure the drives are not wiped?
