I have added a USB3 PCI card to a server, but for some reason the driver is getting assigned/loaded:

84:00.0 USB controller: ASMedia Technology Inc. ASM2142 USB 3.1 Host Controller

84:00.0 0c03: 1b21:2142 (prog-if 30 [XHCI]) Subsystem: 1b21:2142 Physical Slot: 6 Flags: fast devsel, IRQ 40, NUMA node 1, IOMMU group 52 Memory at d4100000 (64-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=32K] Capabilities: [50] MSI: Enable- Count=1/8 Maskable- 64bit+ Capabilities: [68] MSI-X: Enable- Count=8 Masked- Capabilities: [78] Power Management version 3 Capabilities: [80] Express Legacy Endpoint, MSI 00 Capabilities: [100] Advanced Error Reporting Capabilities: [200] Secondary PCI Express Capabilities: [300] Latency Tolerance Reporting Capabilities: [400] L1 PM Substates Kernel driver in use: Kernel modules: xhci_pci

root@hela:~# cat /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf blacklist radeon blacklist nouveau #blacklist nvidia

root@hela:~# cat /etc/modprobe.d/vfio.conf # gt216 video and hdmi audio #options vfio-pci ids=10de:0a20 disable_vga=1 #options vfio-pci ids=10de:0be2 # k4200 video and hdmi audio #options vfio-pci ids=10de:11b4 disable_vga=1 #options vfio-pci ids=10de:0e0a # gtx 1080 snf hdmi audio #options vfio-pci ids=10de:1b80 disable_vga=1 #options vfio-pci ids=10de:10f0 # amd 6450 video and audio options vfio-pci ids=1002:6779 disable_vga=1 options vfio-pci ids=1002:aa98

Anyone know why the vfio-pci drivers is being used instead of the xhci_pci?

the output you posted says it is using the xhci_pci driver?
