Whenever a HA managed VM is requested live migrated, it should be possible for HA to validate if destination hypervisor node is electable before performing migration task, if not then fail migration task or better only present valid electable HN nodes in UI pop-up list

in what problems do you run?

Do you mean that if I trigger an migrate to a node with a lower priority for the particular service, it will first migrate there and after that automatically again to the Node with higher priority?

Maybe if you are to migrate away from node1 then node1 should be filtered away from the drop-down list of target nodes?

Yeah that's a little annoying for me too (todolist++), but not HA specific, so I'd guess he does not meant that....

Years ago I sent a patch for this issue but it never went into the code base.

Yes, if overlooked and VM is migrated to a HA non-allowed node, then it's migrated straight back again after been resumed, waste of time etc.

We evaluate if we want to introduce such filtering when displaying the possible target nodes, not just for HA Managed but also other VMs (e.g. grey the one out which are not a possible target for live migration, as it hasn't the same shared storage, for example).
