Hi.
I have a proxmox server that want to backup to a remote location.
in the remote location I have a bare metal server with proxmox backup installed and runing.
my idea is to use the wireguard client to connect my backup machine to the network where the proxmox server is.
after the fresh install and creating the storage pools decided to configure wireguard and get it running, but for my surprise the client couldn't connect the server.
after a lot of troubleshooting and searching for where the error could be,found that the packages from my client are not even exiting the proxmox backup computer.
have 3 network package sniffers: 1 in the network router, another in the network where the wireguard server is,plus tcptrack (wireguard uses tcp packages) on the proxmox backup computer itself.
check the two network sniffers with other working conections from other computers that I already have to this same server and everytime the sniffers capture a lot of packages.
but when I start the conection on the backup server the packages just don't show up at any stage.
so the only reasons I can think of this behaviour are:
1º for some reason ,the proxmox backup server is blocking the outbound packages
2º some type of error in the wireguard server is making it think is sending packages but in reality is not.
the only thing that I've changed in the computer related to networking is that installed resolvconf since wireguard need it to work.
so,before going to ask in the wireguard forums ¿any idea on why this behaviour ?
