Usually my customers (now with vmware and veeam) has veeam on a VM and some external NAS.
With Proxmox PBS I've seen that is better to have PBS physical and not virtual with local storage to have better performance...

I am setting up my Proxmox environment. Was thinking of the below:
Proxmox VE server
i7 & 32GB Ram / 1x 256 M.2 SSD LVM Cache / Software raid: 2 x 6TB 7200rpm desktop 3.5" disks (mirrored) - LVM ext4 / 1x512 M.2 SSD ext4 for VMs
Options:

Curious to find out from the community what hardware ppl are using for their home backups.
Aware of the system reqs, but curious if anyone has PBS installed on NAS hardware like Synology or a cheaper QNAP?
Alternatives I'm considering are just banging together a small ITX and letting that handle.
