    I'll try that. Thanks!

Perform a ping from VM to another node in the cluster

Hey, I first have to set a network device from my VM to the Host, which has an IP adress in the Host segment... I think that's the problem

    Access to API

Do you have an example how I could possibly use the returned json? Especially for pvesh get /cluster/ressources to store the value on which host the vm is running in a variable.

    Access to API

Is it possible to save the value that is being returned by pvesh in a variable ?

    Access to API

Hey guys, I can't access the Proxmox API from the VM, only from my host... How can that be changed? Thanks!

Perform a ping from VM to another node in the cluster

Hey guys, in my environment it is possible to perform a ping between the nodes in the cluster. Nevertheless I can not ping a node in the cluster from my VMs. Do you know how to solve this issue. Thanks!

Usage of node as Cold Standby

Isn't a cluster with a even numer of nodes causing a lower resiliency to failures than one with an odd number?

Usage of node as Cold Standby

Hello guys, I'm currently using a 4-HA-Node Cluster, which isn't really perfect due to its even number of nodes. That's why I was wonderng if it's possible to use the fourth node as a Cold Standby, without losing redundancy? Basically the forth node would be switched off and I still could lose...

    fault tolerance of ceph

I see your point guys, that helps me a lot! So i case of HA there isn't really no difference between a 3 and 4 node cluster? The availability and performance is nearly the same?

    fault tolerance of ceph

Like I said my 4-Node-Cluster is still quorate when it looses two nodes and ceph is also accessible. It works.

    fault tolerance of ceph

Thank you for your fast reply - I understand your concern when it comes to quorum. But here is the thing, votequorum regulates the needed votes for my cluster: When I have 4 - the expected number of votes is 3. When I shutdown one node it needs 2 from 3 active ones. When I shutdown the third one...

    fault tolerance of ceph

Hey guys, I'm currently running a 4 Node HA-Ceph-Cluster and I was curious about testing the fault tolerance of it. According to my observations the cluster itself is still accessible, even with two remaining nodes (due to the changed config of votequorum) Which configuration do I have to make...

    difference: pvecm and ha-manager

I really like your explanation and think that I understand the difference between both. Also thank you @dietmar @tom

    difference: pvecm and ha-manager

Your wiki defines pvecm as cluster manager: https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Cluster_Manager. This magazine defines ha manager as cluster manager: http://www.admin-magazine.com/Archive/2017/42/Proxmox-virtualization-manager That's the reason why I'm a little bit confused. Neither there is real...

What is the Clustermanager in Proxmox? pvecm or ha-manager?

    difference: pvecm and ha-manager

That's not really the answer to my question

    difference: pvecm and ha-manager

Hey guys, I understand that we use pvecm to create and manage a cluster. Furthermore the purpose of the ha-manager is to do automatic failovers etc. But what is the main Clustermanager in Proxmox? How do pvecm and ha-manger (lrm and crm) work together? Thanks!

    Shutdown Policy: Failover

But waiting 3 minutes for a VM to come up after a immediately poweroff, is not acceptable in HA environment!
  20. P

    Shutdown Policy: Failover

This only works for a controlled shutdown, but when you perform a immediately poweroff of the node (e. g. plug off the power supply) the VM won't be migrated.....
