Found out that I am not using Grub, but systemd-boot according to the Proxmox manual. Also figured out that the latest kernel indeed introduced a problem in my VM guest, so I manually chose the kernel release before that one, that was still on my system.

Just updated to 6.0. Works well, except for one small issue. I am unable to bind vfio-pci to my LSI HBA on boot with a conf file in /etc/modprobe.d/ This does work fine for my GPU though.
