After upgrading
Some of my VMs get the below error when Migrating or starting up. On migration, they stay in the paused state but they say running with qm list. On startup they still work with no issues other than this error on startup.

Just a thought I have had for a while. I think the UI would be cleaner if the VMID "number" was replaced with a UUID and not displayed in the main UI. Only the VM name would be displayed. Any Thoughts?
I have been using local LVM thin volume on 5.x for since 5 was out with out any issue on reboots. I just upgraded from 5.4 to 6.1.3 and for some odd reason the thin volume does not become active and I have to run the following to get it to come up. I have no clue why this is happening...
I ran into this same issue and it turned out to the scsi multipath service.
After ruining
systemctl stop multipathd.service
I was able to destroy the disks.
Update:
I have switched to the virtio drivers, this is what I wanted anyways. I had an issue in the past with virtio and FreeBSD throughput. I solved that issue and the have not had any issues with the interface not receiving packets.

I did a clean install of Proxmox 5 after having the same issue with in-place upgrade from 4.4 to 5. This single PVE box has been running for more than two years without issue. I have two Psfense VM's running in a HA configuration. I do this so I can upgrade pfsense with out network downtime...
I have been using Pfsense 2.0.3 then 2.1 as a VM on Proxmox for over two years now, with no issues! the only thing I recommend doing is making sure you disable "Devices polling" Under System: Advanced: Networking and disable all the "Hardware checksums offloading" as well. You could try but I...
Spice was working perfectly for me then all of a sudden it stopped. I get the "unable to connect to graphics server" I have done some troubleshooting it seems to me, to be an issue with the spiceproxy. I have done a clean install of proxmox/updated and still have the same issue.

option 7
hint.atkbd.0.disabled="1"
boot
Then ssh'd into the VM
echo "hint.atkbd.0.disabled=1" >> /boot/loader.conf.local
This solved my issue as well, downside this disable console keyboard
I have been using proxmox for about 6 months and love it. I recently decided to run pfsense 2.0 firewall in a HA(clustered) on proxmox. I have it working perfectly and it works beyond my dreams. In the process of securing things I noticed that KVM process runs as root and I'm wonder if that...
Thanks Udo,
I reran the test with your suggestion with/without the conv=fdatasync a few times and with smaller size.
What do you mean by your statement "you will get "better" values.", better performance or more accurate?
dd if=/dev/zero of=/tmp/13GBfile bs=128k count=100K...
I use dd to test iscsi performance on the guest VM, not sure how accurate this would be, but I thought I would share.
