SPICE EDD for Ultrawide resolution via Nomachine

Ok this might turn into a longer thread! Did you start off with vanilla Debian without a display manager first? Then add X/wayland and a DM? What is your display driver and did you add an audio device from the outset? Is there a guide you followed? (eg...

SPICE EDD for Ultrawide resolution via Nomachine

If I understand correctly: don't enable the DM by default on boot? It's Mint Cinnamon so i think it uses lightdm.

SPICE EDD for Ultrawide resolution via Nomachine

Hi, I gave set up the latest Mint Cinnamon VM in proxmox. My monitor is an LG Ultrawide 2560x1080 (21:9 ratio) Constraint: I have to use the SPICE display and audio driver because audio doesn't work in nomachine without SPICE. With that out of the way... Nomachine works great. But.... When...

    Minimum requirements for containers?

Hi lxc newbie here. I can't seem to find what the minimum disk and ram requirements are for the containers that come with latest proxmox. eg. ubuntu-15.04-standard or even the turnkey ones. When i mean minimum i really mean bare minimum, just enough to be able to ssh into i suppose (and that...

    minimal - ssh server jumpbox

Would be good see a very lightweight lxc which allows ssh into it and out. I was looking at alpine and this guide (http://bolt.oclane.net/entry/creating-an-alpine-linux-openvz-container-template) and was hoping to use that. It build, but having trouble getting this to run in the latest proxmox...

How can I assign a physical disk to a VM

There's a section on the wiki at: http://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/FAQ#How_can_I_assign_a_physical_disk_to_a_VM.3F Questions: 1. add "it" ? proxmox can see my disk (and partitions) via fdisk so do i need to mount it under a mount point in proxmox first? 2. add what where in the interface? its not...

So i have 1 disk (LVM proxmox) and 2 additional disks added to the box and mounted under proxmox. Other than samba is there some way to make those filesystems available to the VMs otehr than samba similar to Vmware folder sharing? May be a silly question. Thanks

mount physical disks wirth existing data

ok thats a relief. my concern is if proxmox will start taking over and lvm it thus wiping. so what youre suggesting is that lvm and non-lvm can coexist?

    host dns server - where?

(newbie) HI, I basically want my own dns server (based on dnsmasq) running either on promox OR inside a VM so that it serves dhcp/static dhcp to my intranet machines. theoretically i could install a minimal ubuntu/slackware VM (bridged?) with dnsmasq installed and that would be fine...right...
