1. add "it" ? proxmox can see my disk (and partitions) via fdisk so do i need to mount it under a mount point in proxmox first?
2. add what where in the interface? its not clear. under the VM? under Storage?

I also do not understand that FAQ - just try without that step.

3. what's "-ide#" ?

Just replace '#' with a number - the ide port. Valid options are -ide0, -ide1, -ide2 and -ide3

There is also a manual page:

# man qm

jep. i do have exactly the same question. What is it that i have to add in the webinterface first? I have assigned the Disks without problems but the vm wont recognize it

did you power off and start the VM? this is needed if you do changes, a reboot is not enough here.

:-D

Hi tom.,

thanks for that. That´s all i had to do :) works like a charm

thanks for help

Hi all,

I'm even newer to the domain.
Where the hell can I find the <VMID>?

Thanks.
Way to necro a thread.

But seriously, if you take half a second to look at the web GUI you will see your vmid listed alongside the VM name....
