i have 3 servers with 3 different behaviors, all running 2.6.32-12 and intel-onboard-nics
1: no problems, tagged and untagged
2: only works when using tagged vlans also for default. when adding untagged vlan, tagged vlans stops working
3: no vlans at all ar working, just untagged
another bad...
which nic/driver are you using?
i expirienced similar problems with some intel nics.
one machine didn´t work with tagged and untagged vlans at the same time, another didn´t work with vlan´s at all.
Hi,
you should send your syslog to a second server, maybe the last entries aren´t stored to disk. If you are using a raidcontroller, take also a look at the logs there.

Every Raidcontroller is working without a bbu too, but there are some which can enable the writecache and some other features only if the bbu is connected.
In case of a powerloss the bbu makes shure that the data in the writecache isn't lost.
Will this be a production-server or something you are playing with (or simply can you sleep if the server crashes?)
If you are just starting, this card will be ok but you cant add a bbu and the cache has only 128MB. Maybe you should take a look at the new 6405 which is supporting the zmm(is...
You can still use i386. It refers to the memory you need. For example, if you need more then 2 GB for mysql, then you should use amd64. But it only makes sense if all of the software you are using is compiled for 64bit.
Keep in mind, that 64bit won´t double the speed of 32bit ;-)
If its...
sometimes after migrating to openvz, proxmox was showing wrong values for quota, but this was working correct after stopping the vm, dropping the quota with vzquota and restarting the vm. maybe this is working here too

hi,
the simple way ist to ask your provider to give you a second mac or to add your mac to the port-security-setting of the switch your server is connected to. (thats really no big thing)
another solution is using iptables, an internal dummy-network and dnat. (thats tricky if you don´t know...
