I'm trying to get infoblox server to work on proxmox kvm.
The Infoblox setup calls for somethign like this:
<interface type='network'>
<rom bar='off' />
<source network='MGMT'/>
<model type='virtio'/>
<address type='pci' domain='0x0000' bus='0x00' slot='0x03' function='0x0'/>...
Hi,
Currently my host has something like 40 interfaces, all configured to be on the proper vlan with no ip address.
My containers bridge these interfaces and have the proper IP address (no vlan configuration inside the lxc container)
The problem is that I can't "share" more than 10 interfaces...
I'm considering building out a cluster of promox machines between several datacenters. I read that latency is key for corosync.
I ran a little test and I got these results from machines that would be in approximately in the same locations as the cluster members.
Host is up (0.0039s latency)...
Hi,
Do you have any statistics on people with 3.4 setups vs 4.x setups?
The 3.4 setup is working fine and Debian is support wheezy for a few more years.
For "enterprise" type workloads especially ones where the major underlying tech is changing I feel like this is a really short lifecycle.
I...
I am using Proxmox 3.4 and considering waiting for Proxmox 5 rather than upgrading to Proxmox4.
I have a few questions
1. Will 4 to 5 upgrade be as "involved" as 3 to 4? If everything is being kept the same (no new cluster building, container conversion etc...) then maybe I might as well bite...
Hi,
If proxmox has AGPL licensing and we create a gui that creates containers and then runs some ansible scripts then our service installed on the container talks back to that gui/interface. Does this cause a licensing problem? Do we have to give people the source code of our software or...
Hi,
Setting up several new machines which have
2 x 1TB SSD
2 x 4TB HDD
Theoretically I wanted to created
SSD Drives
800GB SSD ZFS Raid 1 - pool0 - root mount
100GB SSD CACHE partition
100GB SSD ZIL
HDD Drives
4TB ZFS Raid 1 - pool1 - secondary mount

Considering this:
https://openvz.org/Docker_inside_CT
When will proxmox be using the openvz version necessary to support docker in VZs?
We like what we see with docker and I am evaluating running dockers in Containers.
I have been using proxmox for a few years now and I am wondering why there is still no supported HA solution for containers? At this point I an willing to code it myself....(i am a sysadmin though). This feature would literally phenomenal.... Is there some sort of theoretical limitation?
I removed 1 machine from the clsuter and and now all the otehr machines are logging cp_send_message failed
I also tried pvecm e 4
no effect?
I am using different versions of proxmox on the machines
3 are 2.3
2 are 3.0
I remove one of the 3.0 ones.
I've been a user of PVE since v2 and at first I was taken aback by the change but after reading the truth behind, I think its a great move and I hope ProxMox benefits.
This is the strategy:
Business people "see unsupported/not for production" etc... and they panic and you tell them its...
Live Migration between a NEWER E5-2620 to a E5472 based CPUs and I was running into the XSAVE issue which I fixed via the NOXSAVE kernel boot parameter.
I am a migrating between a regular extsfs file system --> bind mount of an ext3fs/iscsi fs FOLDER ON top of a local ext3FS. I Am doing this...
I have 4 ProxMox Servers
1. Each of them has a different LUN of 100GB mounted to /data/containers
2. Each of them hosts different containers
3. In the event of migration, I use the regular method and there is an ISCSI --> HOST --> ISCSI Data transfer (which is not optimal but works)
4. In...
Hi,
So I've been experimenting with the clustering, iscsi, vlans, bonding etc... anyways..... Now I ran into an issue where I am stuck in some sort of clustering limbo. I don't mind uninstalling all the proxmox related packages but I'd prefer not to have wipe and reinstall the server. Is it...
Hi,
So just wanted to be clear on a few items
1. You don't share LUNs between Nodes (the shared option means what then - for images and non-dynamic data?)
2. Is the Recommended method is LVM on top of an ISCSI LUN per Physical Node. What about 1 LUN per VM, so you have many LUNs per physical...
