Hi All,
Is this expected behavior?
PBS1 is our older pbs server that was removed to a remote site. Its sole function is to nightly reach out to our newer (PBS2) server and sync its datastore to itself. PBS1 then also runs its own verify jobs on the datastore it then holds.
PBS1's sync log...
Hello All,
I'm trying to be diligent in that I am currently simulating a "total loss" and trying to restore from our pbs tapes with only the tapes, our tape library, and a blanked server.
I have installed pbs to the blanked server. I have connected the tape library and imported the tape...
Hi All,
We're looking to purchase a server new, explicitly for PBS. Which is a bit of a big commitment for us. So I thought I'd run the specs by everyone here in case I'm missing anything. . .
SUPERMICRO AS-2124US-TNRP Server/Chassis
2 x 16 Core AMD EPYC 7313 Gen 3 Processor
256GB DDR4-3200...
Hi All,
If there is a means of already doing this, I apologize and would appreciate guidance.
Having said that. . . what I'd love to see is a feature where a proxmox node could be set to "maintenance mode" and HA would then migrate all of its VMs off of it (while we watch) and the VMs would...
Hi All,
Sorry if my meager googling and forum searching skills have let us all down. . . but would someone please answer:
What should we expect to happen if/when "bit rot" takes place and a verify job detects it on a backup/snapshot generated long ago? In other words, what is the by-design...
Hi All,
I'm just curious. Certainly not going to try it.
But what happens (ie., what could/would go wrong) if we were to join a new PVE node to our PVE cluster (w/ ceph) when the new node is not yet licensed. The other eight nodes pre-existing on the cluster are licensed and on the...
We have two 11TB VMs (among many other smaller VMs) backing up to a PBS server.
Admittedly, the hardware PBS is running on is not ideal. It's HDD-based. Twenty-four Seagate ST10000NM0086 10TB SATA drives operating in a RAIDZ2 datastore. There are no SSD-based zfs "special devices" and we...
Hi All,
Is there some CLI or alternate means of viewing the task output of a running tape backup task?
I ask because we are currently in the midst of a 25-30 TB backup to LTO-8 tape (on a Quantum SuperLoader 3, HH drive) and at about 20 hours into the task, the output window stopped updating...
