Don't know if it's an option for you, but CrashPlan PRO is a pretty good, cross platform, and simple to manage solution. It's not open source or free, however. Still, it's pretty inexpensive.

It's most likely a timing issue. Installed on top of bare metal hardware timing is usually not a problem, while in virtualized environments it's a fairly common problem. Yes, I googled "openvz ubuntu 10.04 template" last night and found the templates. I created a new Ubuntu 10.04 LAMP server. It appears to work fine. Thx for the tip.

Thx Udo! I was reading up a on it a bit more and it seems that any KVM instances will need to be reconfigured from using iSCSI to IDE too.

Hi, I've been running Proxmox since the 0.9 days. I'm now on 1.5, but I'm still using the 2.6.24 kernel. To switch to 2.6.18 (stable), is all I need to do to: apt-get install proxmox-ve-2.6.18 ... and make sure Grub boots 2.6.18 by default in /boot/grub/menu.lst? Thanks in advance!
