Support for OpenStack Swift Object Storage?

Just an FYI ... Sheepdog is being integrated into OpenStack's Swift project.

    Install Proxmox on SSD

Hi, I'm considering building a(nother) Proxmox server and installing Proxmox on a SATA Disk on Module (DOM). I know this will essentially limit me to only run KVM, but that's fine for my purposes with this installation. Plus, I'd like to try out the "bleeding edge" KSM features anyway...

    Personal Backup Appliance

Don't know if it's an option for you, but CrashPlan PRO is a pretty good, cross platform, and simple to manage solution. It's not open source or free, however. Still, it's pretty inexpensive.

Support for OpenStack Swift Object Storage?

Are there plans to include Sheepdog in pve-test or other Proxmox repos anytime soon? I'd be happy to put together a small cluster for testing. Do you have any functional diagrams/specs of how Sheepdog will be integrated? Do you plan to ship a "turn-key" Proxmox Sheepdog "appliance"? That would...

Support for OpenStack Swift Object Storage?

Dietmar, I just found this little snippet in the "roadmap" section on the wiki: "New cluster communication based on corosync" ... having looked into Sheepdog a bit today and adding one and one together, does that mean that Sheepdog is on the roadmap for 2.0? If so, I can't wait for...

Support for OpenStack Swift Object Storage?

I'd never heard of Sheepdog before. Looks similar in many ways. I'll need to look into that more. When do you expect to have Sheepdog integrated/implemented in Proxmox? Not very soon I assume? I did build a small Swift cluster based on the "Swift All In One" instructions. It was pretty straight...

    Ubuntu 10.04 LTS Server

Just a quick follow-up on this for everyone simply downloading the templates from the OpenVZ wiki. Make sure you follow Bodhi Zazen's instructions here: http://blog.bodhizazen.net/linux/download-ubuntu-10-04-openvz-templates/

Switchvox PBX stuttering auto attendant on Proxmox

It's most likely a timing issue. Installed on top of bare metal hardware timing is usually not a problem, while in virtualized environments it's a fairly common problem. In either case, a simple timing module (a $75 piece of USB dongle) will do the trick. I'm not sure if it would be supported in...

    Ubuntu 10.04 LTS Server

Yes, I googled "openvz ubuntu 10.04 template" last night and found the templates. I created a new Ubuntu 10.04 LAMP server. It appears to work fine. Thx for the tip.

Yes, I did mean scsi, not iSCSI. It was too late at night. :P

Switching from kernel 2.6.24 to 2.6.18

Thx Udo! I was reading up a on it a bit more and it seems that any KVM instances will need to be reconfigured from using iSCSI to IDE too.

Switching from kernel 2.6.24 to 2.6.18

Hi, I've been running Proxmox since the 0.9 days. I'm now on 1.5, but I'm still using the 2.6.24 kernel. To switch to 2.6.18 (stable), is all I need to do to: apt-get install proxmox-ve-2.6.18 ... and make sure Grub boots 2.6.18 by default in /boot/grub/menu.lst? Thanks in advance!

    Migration from OpenVZ to KVM

Hi, From the looks of discussions here, the different kernels, and the uncertainty around OpenVZ, it appears to me that going forward, KVM will be the best technology to use for my VMs. I really like the OpenVZ format and how quick and easy it is to set up a new VM using OpenVZ. However, going...

    Proxmox VE 1.5 released [UPDATE]

Re: Proxmox VE 1.5 released Hi, Is there anywhere on the wiki where I can read more about the differences in the kernel version, so that I can make a better decision around which kernel I should install? Thanks.
