Backup of one specific LXC mountpoint?

Bad luck: ./proxmox-backup-client ./proxmox-backup-client: error while loading shared libraries: libfuse3.so.3: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory Even in the machine where I did the build. so means I need to manually somehow really install fuse3 also for the client ...

Backup of one specific LXC mountpoint?

Ok, @fabian it cost me the whole night and even after many tries and such I end up with one last error (rustc 1.43.0): error[E0658]: use of unstable library feature 'str_strip': newly added --> src/server/worker_task.rs:232:66 | 232 | if let Some(rest) =...

Backup of one specific LXC mountpoint?

Ok, Then I need to wait it seems ... many users are using Ubuntu like me and I think it is also valuable test feedback on how to use the backup client "itself" in such cases ...

Info: Kernel 5.7 up to 5.8.5 or such breaks usbip!!

Hey Proxmox staff, this is mainly an info about something I just learned - and because I use usbip with Proxmox please have it on your radar too when planning kernel upgrades!! According to https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=208267 it seems that kernel 5.7 up to at least 5.8.5 Breaks...

Backup of one specific LXC mountpoint?

Hm ... and it is getting not better :-( I now updated one container to Focal (Ubuntu 20.04). Result: The following packages have unmet dependencies: proxmox-backup-client : Depends: libapt-pkg5.0 (>= 0.8.0) but it is not installable ... I think the same as reported in...

Backup of one specific LXC mountpoint?

@fabian Hm ... not that easy as it seems :-( So I added the apt repo into my container (ubuntu bionic based), then I worked around the fact that the repo is not signed. But after that I end up with The following packages have unmet dependencies: proxmox-backup-client : Depends: libfuse3-3 (>=...

[SOLVED] Problems on shutdown/boots with nfs/glusterfs Filesystems and HA containers / systemd order of services!

Ok, I just tried it (needed to know it :-) ) and yes If I create the exact same mount in fstab as gluster would do and still leaving the glusterfs "storage definition of type glusterfs" existing is exactly the solution. The stuff from fstab is mounted very early and unmounted very late and...

Backup of one specific LXC mountpoint?

:-( Then this would be a feature request from my side :) I also have one VM with a very big Sentry installation inside which runs in docker and here the "data directories" are only a very small part of the disk usage. Having always to backup 160GB instead of 1GB or such is a big difference :-)

Backup of one specific LXC mountpoint?

Hi, it can easiely be configured if, beside the rootfs, also other mounted fs will be store in the backup. I now for example have a redis container where the data directory /var/lib/redis is in an own mountpoint. Now backup wise my main use case would be to strore the "rootfs" only sometimes...

[SOLVED] Problems on shutdown/boots with nfs/glusterfs Filesystems and HA containers / systemd order of services!

I did a bit more research and found some very old Glusterfs code on Github from Glusterfs plugin. Interesting here is that it is allowed to enter "localhost" as proxmox server topount to the local machine ... never had that idea :) Would be awesome in the docs. In any case in this code the...

[SOLVED] Problems on shutdown/boots with nfs/glusterfs Filesystems and HA containers / systemd order of services!

@Dominic I have one question still ... Currently my glusterfs storage is called "glusterfs" and so in my /etc/pve/qemu-server/102.conf as example the image location is set as Ok, so I would need to mount it myself to "somewhere" and then add a directory storage with the name "glusterfs" and...
