Do I need to activate BIOS/Legacy mode? As of now it only installs from CD/DVD.
Proxmox 5 from CD installs and starts. Debian 9 installs but doesn't start.
So my server refuses to use USB-install media, CD/DVD media it has no problem with, so to install Proxmox 6 I need to burn it to a CD.
All CDs I can find now days are 700 Mb and the image that I get when downloading Proxmox is 778 Mb... that will not fit.
I should say it was like 10-15 years go...
I will when I have a chance.
I have tested it on another machine and it works, I have only tested that it boots that is ok the server too, but when I try to install then this happens.
I have used Proxmox on the same machine, that was an v5 upgraded to v6. Installed using an CD...
So I got an HP Proliant DL380 G6 and finally, I got the time to update it with 1 more processor, 16 GB of RAM and two more fans.
All went well even though adding memory was tricky...
Booted the server from an USB stick and started the install, then the installation crashes after it complains...
The VM has been running for almost a year, nothing changed.
Heres the config:
agent: 1
bootdisk: sata0
cores: 2
ide2: local:iso/ubuntu-18.04.2-live-server-amd64.iso,media=cdrom
memory: 8192
name: unifi
net0: virtio=8A:B0:B7:9E:3D:A9,bridge=vmbr0,firewall=1
numa: 0
onboot: 1
ostype: l26
sata0...
It is time to upgrade my Proxmox server, it is an HP Proiiant DL380 G6, atm with 1 Xeon and 32 Gb of RAM.
It has an P410i RAID-card.
In the upcoming month I will be upgradign the server with 1 Xeon and 32 Gb RAM.
Resulting in 2 Xeon 2,25 Ghz processors and 64 Gb of RAM.
Inside I got 5 600 Gb SAS...
I have just done something similar, I setup an docker-host machine using Debian 10, on there I installed docker and docker-compose.
After that I installed Linuxserver.io Letsencrypt container that is an reverse proxy container, loads of ready made proxy scripts.
It is working beutifully perfect...
I needed to move the Proxmox 6 server to new ip-numbers.
I got two bonds, so I ssh'd into the server changed the ip-numbers inside /etc/network/interfaces and made the changes to the /ets/hosts file. Restarted the server, new ip and all, but no webgui.
Did an nmap there is no port 8006 open...
I got a suggestion on reddit to install Debian Strech first (which works) and then to install Proxmox.
First I will install with this new USB, second I will make another one, if that fails I will burn a CD.
If all that fails I will install Debian and go from there.
