Thanks for your suggestions - tried latest Java version, refreshing and the checkboxes that i'm not asked again but nothing helped;
I remembered i had also several strange issues a while ago and the solution was to deactivate McAfee - and that was also the solution here :-(
So i just...
Hello,
I'm just testing PVE 3.1 (single node setup) on Debian 7 based on the wiki install guide (http://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Install_Proxmox_VE_on_Debian_Wheezy)
So far everything went fine but when i start a newly created w2k8 vm and want to open the console i'm getting this error:
no...
The KVM based VM's are on LVM's on the DRBD device and replicated - the OpenVZ VM's i currently have only on one of the nodes;
To have the OpenVZ's also replicated and available for automatic fail-over if the node where the OpenVZ VM is running on - which storage type do i need?
Is GlusterFS or...
Just found the 'Two nodes cluster and quorum issues' in the wiki pages of PVE 2.0 - understand that part....
So i have a question on that - instead spending money on a 3rd server (what is not needed from the number of vm's and workload), is it possible that the dummy node is a vm on the master...
Hi Udo,
Thanks for your reply - 3 nodes could be a issue since i do not have 10G switches and have 2x 10G interfaces on each node connected to the other node;
I could try bridging 3 nodes together with 2x 10G interfaces - not sure if that will work....
I assume the need of 3 nodes because of...
Hello,
I have an productive PVE 1.9 cluster and thinking about setting up a new PVE 3.1 cluster and moving the VM's over to the new 3.1 version;
On PVE 1.9 i'm using LVM's on DRBD with 2x 10GBit/s between the Nodes for the replication because i do not have an external Storage like NFS or iSCSI...
This is an option if your server is sitting under your desk or nearby you, but not for 1U servers which are fully populated with disks and spreaded over different datacenters;
You have to unmount the server, install it on a open server where the reduced airflow could possibly overheat one of the...
Need to have the new .iso image for testing - since all of our new hardware are equipped with the new Areca 18xx series raid-controller we had to move away from Proxmox because of the missing 6gbit SAS drivers....
Any chance to get a Proxmox install .iso which includes the Areca 1880-series driver?
The controllers are now out since nearly a year and a capable kernel in the repository makes no sense when you are not able to install Proxmox on it....
network config looks ok;
i had also problems using hp switches 2510g-24 where i found out that in bonding mode balance-rr, balance-alb or 802.3af with 2 or 3 interfaces you cannot have more then 1gbit throughput, and also noticed that sometimes vm's are unreachable;
i tried everything you can...
i updated to test-system to 1.8 and found some smaller issues, but have to say that is running on squeeze with the lenny pvetest repository;
one of the strange thing is drbd, after powering on i get a split-brain where drbd find no neighbor;
after detaching one node, reboot the node which cames...
Correct, for KVM ther is a feature called KSM which can save memory when you host more vm's with the same os or applications on it;
But you need to check if your kernel support this - see the release notes for the PVE kernels;
There is no real 'shared Ram space' - the vm get the memory you...
