API DATA -> sollte in der aktuellen Version wie folgt aussehen.
SELFHOSTDNS_MAP=_acme-challenge.<SUB>.<DOMAIN>.<TLD>:<RID1>:<RID2>
SELFHOSTDNS_PASSWORD=<PASSWORT>
SELFHOSTDNS_USERNAME=<KUNDENNUMMER>
Die Platzhalter (<...>) sind natürlich dementsprechend anzupassen.
Yes root@pam is right! It's good for recover your VMs/CTs.
For production it is better to use API Keys with restricted access.

That looks good, you have to add the Proxmox Backup Server in the PVE https://<ip>:8006 GUI
Datacenter -> Storage -> Add -> Proxmox Backup Server
Enter IP and the storage name...
User and Password for now use root...
The Fingerprint you can found on the PBS WebGUI (8007) Dashboard
When there is the folder structure than you are good, thats only meta data... The data from PBS is stored in .chunks folder.
Do not delete or edit anything there! -> That will destroy your datastore.
You have to see if the PBS VM can access this added store. Do this from the WEB GUI...
The easy way is to manual mount your XFS Backup Disk, than to restore all your VMs / LXCs from the Backup.
Can you post the console output from fdisk -l?
