Thanks, so this posix_fallocate is better to use than ‘Full’ I guess… I don’t suppose it’s possible to mix and match (different Preallocation for different VMs)? If I have it on default and I switch to Full will all VMs suddenly take up all their required space?

That Preallocation option could do with some documentation. I could not find it in the online Wiki or the Documentation when you click ‘Help’ from the Storage dilog. What is the difference between ’Full’ and ‘Full (posix_fallocate)’ ??

If I already have existing encrypted LVM setup on a disk and I want to use the 'LVM' storage type in Proxmox GUI, is that possible? When I try to setup anything other than 'Directory' the disk is already showing as full, I guess because the underlying LVM is taking up the full disk...

I find it easier if you map first and then put the path to map rather than disk by-id. Sadly mine is down at the moment so I can’t take a look and get some screenshots.

I have not looked into mdadm or RAID yet. I also see the expert installer only allows up to sha256. Is 1M enough for GRUB? How do you get it on there once you have partitioned? I didn’t see any option to install the boot loader on multiple partitions…
