I’ve also seen something similar on my home lab Intel NUC8 - Host freezes and I cannot SSH to it (or even ping it)... My NUC8 is also headless so can’t check the terminal screen at the point of crashing.
Only way to recover it is to do a full hard reboot of the host and, once it comes back up...
Thanks for the Reply...
I now have two physical (standalone) nodes both with a local 500GB SSD and with the default install storage options of the following:
local - Directory - 94GB: /dev/mapper/pve-root (according to "df -h", GUI states mounted as /var/lib/vz)
local-lvm LVM-Thin: 338GB...
Hi Guys,
To add to this - I managed to get my NUC7PJYH (Gemini Lake J5005) “working” with GPU Passthrough - At least for headless transcoding (Intel Quicksync usage via the IGP)...
My setup is different to yours in that I’m using Ubuntu 18.10 Desktop (P2V VM on PVE 5.4-3) and using the NUC...
Hi There,
Looks like there is a bug in PVE 5.4-3 when trying to login to the Proxmox WebUI (Mobile Version) when TFA is enabled for the user.
The error given is “Login failed. Please enter the correct credentials”.
If the full WebUI is forced on a mobile device, the credentials are accepted...
Hi All,
Proxmox seems to offer a multitude of options for filesystems on the local disk(s). I started off by installing the default options on my 1 Node standalone server and noticed it configured the local 500GB SSD as follows:
local - Directory - 94GB: /dev/mapper/pve-root (according to "df...
Hi There,
By default it seems that Proxmox mounts NFS shares as NFS v3 and the only way to change this to NFS v4, v4.1 etc is to manually edit the /etc/pve/storage.cfg (options vers=<NFS VERSION>) on the host.
Maybe this may be better if there was a simple drop down to select from in the GUI...
Thanks for this - Is there any documentation on this nesting feature and what it does / how? I'm interested since I would have thought it standard to run docker inside an LXC container with the docker instance (and its containers) being transparent to the host i.e. as if the were in a VM?
I'm considering running docker (and some docker containers) off of proxmox and wondered whether running docker inside an LXC or a VM would be better? I noticed from the following URL that it mentions that running docker in a VM would be better but gives no reason why this would be the case...
I'm seeing the same info output to syslog every minute, even when there is no replication setup...

I see from the above that I can either...
Thanks @oguz for making the updates to the page.
I notice that there’s still mentions of Debian Squeeze and Lenny (in the bit about debootstrap) - Is this intended or should this really be changed to Stretch?
Thanks!
It’s not a missing driver, but an out of date driver on stretch... The updated driver doesn’t appear to be available on stretch.
Looking forward to PVE6 on Buster but wanted to see if there was a way to get the updated driver on Stretch/PVE 5.3 for testing in the meantime.
Hi Guys,
Is there a way to install Proxmox on top of Debian Buster (rather than Stretch which Proxmox ships with), or does there exist any testing Proxmox on Buster builds/installers?
The reason I’d like to test this out is because the Intel vaapi drivers (i965-va-driver) are FAR more up to...
Thanks @oguz,
If you could take a look at updating the online guide for Proxmox 5.3 iSCSI Installation that would be great!
I think it just needs updating around “lenny”, “squeeze”, “aptitude”, old kernel/header references etc.
Thanks!
Thanks @oguz,
I'll try that but a couple of other questions please?
(1) Can I please request the "Proxmox Installation to iSCSI" guide is updated - I'm sure it would be helpful to others!
(2) You replied "It's not supported." - Are you referring to ANY iSCSI Target installation or referring to...
Hi There,
I'm a new Proxmox user and loving it so far on a simple local installation !!! but ...
... I'm trying to follow the guide "Proxmox ISCSI installation" (https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Proxmox_ISCSI_installation) to install Proxmox to an iSCSI Target LUN so that I can test booting the...
I'm also seeing this same issue on my NUC8 - Seems though Proxmox 5.3 is based on stretch which uses intel-vaapi-driver 1.7.3-1 ... Looks like Coffee Lake support was added in intel-vaapi-driver 2.0.0...
Is there anyway to update the intel-vaapi driver to the latest version? The buster packages...
