Windows terminal server breaks webpages sometimes.

Hello. Sorry about the title, not sure where to troubleshoot. The symptoms the users are reporting is: "sometimes webpages only load half way" Like if you manually cancel a web page mid-loading. And sometimes when moving mail in outlook, everything freezes for the users for a few seconds. The...

Ceph loses total space, when close to full.

OK, makes sense. I see now that there is a small unbalance between the OSD's. Thanks Alwin :)

Ceph loses total space, when close to full.

Lost almost 100GB from startup, to 88% full. We are currently running 3 nodes, with 2 500GB SSD's in each node, with replication 3, and minimum 2. (we are planning to add new nodes in a few months.) Is this normal? of so why? Thanks :)

    Backup of snapshots

Hello. So we made it into production, and one thing i did not test was this: Using ceph, made a snapshot a week ago. this made a new disk: "vm-101-state-snapshot" "snapshots found (not included into backup)" Ok, so this mean the changes after the snapshot, is not included in the snapshot? OR...

Xubuntu VM wont boot with virtio scsi.

Ok, so this is strange. When video is set to default, it looks like it does not use SPICE (xubuntu uses xfce, dont know if that has something to do with it). When i use VirtIO scsi it wont boot, if i change the disk to IO-Thread, it boots (???) If i change the display to spice, it boot either...

Xubuntu VM wont boot with virtio scsi.

Hi. Does some distros not have the virtio scsi module? After installing Xubuntu 18.04 in a VM, it told me I/O error as it was about to reboot, then just hanging after boot. If i change the HDD controller to scsi single, it boots just fine. But as i read in the wiki scsi single does not support...

Ceph performance worse after complete reinstall.

Thanks. Just found out that i sometime during the last week enabled something called flow control on our Unifi XG-16 switch (10Gbps). With that off again, we are half way there to the first result again.

Ceph performance worse after complete reinstall.

I think this may be something in the kernel maybe? Because its just small files that is a problem, the overall performance is great. IF the non-subscriber repo uses a different kernel. https://forum.proxmox.com/threads/ceph-low-performance-especially-4k.47235/page-2 So if i understand this...

Ceph performance worse after complete reinstall.

Can FIO test the block device? or do i have to crate a cephfs pool and test using file?

Oh, none of the servers run Raid. HBA or direct SATA. Yes, soon.

Ceph performance worse after complete reinstall.

Interesting. Is there any difference in how the system operates when using the subscriber repos and when using the non-subscriber repos? What are the options for ceph's client cache?

Ceph performance worse after complete reinstall.

We have not yet upgraded the FW. Will try that tomorrow. My bad, the setting works, but it don't seem to cache as effective on smaller files like it used to. I have to backtrack and see if i can find what i did different. I am trying to find out what i did different. The LSI controller is...

Ceph performance worse after complete reinstall.

It looks like the osd_memory_target does not matter in this case. The only difference i can think of is that the previous setup used the non-subscriber repo. And one of the servers got a new LSI 9207-8i controller card. I will get you the info if i can remote into the PVE network from home, or...

Yes. In the first image, Atto uses a 256MB test file, so we are below cache size.

Ceph performance worse after complete reinstall.

Hello. So we have 3 nodes, each with 2 Samsung sm631a 480GB in each. Ceph is connected via a 10Gbit switch, and the only thing i have tweaked is: osd_memory_target = 1073741824 So each OSD only uses 1GB, instead of 4GB. The pool uses size=3, min size=2. Now what is so frustrating before the...
