because ip a didn't display an inet6 address, I thought it wouldn't matter if the CT config had ipv6 enabled or not.
ok. let me disable it in CT config and test it out again. Thank you.
I didn't mention this earlier, sorry. But I disabled it inside the container by adding the following 3 lines in the sysctl.conf :
net.ipv6.conf.all.disable_ipv6 =1
net.ipv6.conf.default.disable_ipv6 =1
net.ipv6.conf.lo.disable_ipv6 =1
Do I need to disable it in the proxmox container config too ?
I tried adding a 15s delay for 1 VM and 30s for another. But they still failed to start up. I'll just remove the iso dependency now which I am sure will work great UNTIL I bungle something up in those VMs and have to get back in using a live disk/usb.
I guess as long as it does start up...
container config -- i added a nas mount so I could copy over my zsh and vim configs. this container doesn't need nas access, and I intend to remove the mount point once I have the container working as expected.

Hi Tom. Thank you for the explanation. Having been an Admin on the Archlinux forums previously, I am well aware of the spam issues that occur on public forums and I understand. I was just confused because, these last couple of threads were not my first on this forum. I did edit my threads a few...
Yes, they are already installed. I was just trying to understand why it cannot see the iso files on boot of the host, but can see them later without issues.
Thanks for your reply KatyComputer... so to get Proxmox help, I should stop using Proxmox forums and go to reddit?
It would help if the forums had a list of rules that I could check to see if I had inadvertently broken or something. And yes, subscription is an option, but I currently do not get...
This is a thread-hijack. Sorry -- but I don't know what else to do since all my new threads show up for a few minutes and then go into "Awaiting approval before being displayed publicly"
Are there any rules that I might have broken? These were not my very first threads on this board. I have had...
I have 3 containers -- 2 Arch based and 1 Debian based. They all startup on boot (of the proxmox host) but for some reason, the debian container will not be assigned an IP address. No issues with the Arch based containers. All my containers and VMs are setup as DHCP and are assigned a specific...
Hello,
I have a problem where my containers start up fine when rebooting the server, but my vms don't start up even though they are set to start at boot. The error I get is
Error: volume 'downloads:iso/archlinux-2020.02.01-x86_64.iso' does not exist
Another vm gives
Error: volume...
Ok. so looks like I was on the same track. What is the difference between Clone & Create a template options?
I get the difference as in cloning is cloning an actual container, but would it result in the same?
Clone an existing container (which has all the settings I want) == Create a new...
maybe I am not getting the concept of creating a template then. I used the Archlinux template originally to get the rootfs installed, but obviously that is not enough for usage -- updates & mirrors + extra users based on services installed + changing login shell (for those that use something...
I find myself creating a bunch of containers based on Archlinux and then installing a single service on it. Each time I create one, I have to:
setup pacman mirrors
update the machine
install zsh and a couple other packages
set up a bind to a nas export
copy the vim settings and zsh settings...
I ended up re-installing proxmox on the HDD array itself. Partitioned it manually to give Proxmox root 15GB, a swap of 8GB and the rest (about 907GB) as a lvm-thin disk to hold my vm disks. I know I might lose the vmdisks if Proxmox or the RAID card dies but since it's just a home server, I am...
Thanks @kkjensen.
I am currently 70% in installing proxmox to a 16G USB drive. However it is taking unusually long for the installation. It's been over 30 mins or so -- which makes me think, it's probably not good. ESXi installed itself in less than 3-4 mins and apparently Proxmox should take...
How long have you used your USB for the boot drive? Did you move the /var or any other partitions off of the USB and onto some other HDD/SSD? Did you take any precautions so that the USB would last longer -- or has the USB lasted in spite of having the entire install on the USB stick?
I haven't...
I have a 1U Supermicro server in a SC813MTQ chassis. It houses a X9SCL-F board with Xeon E3-1240 processor that I currently use as a VMWare ESXi host. I want to move over to Proxmox for 3 reasons:
I just get a very alien feeling with VMWare cli and even finding something in the documentation
I...
