Hi Jon,
Thanks for your suggestion. A TurnKey community member actually started work on that some time ago but deferred it (indefinitely) due to other stuff that had broader appeal at the time. I'll let him know that there are strong advocates for RT and we'll see what happens.
Actually we...
Hi vigilian,
We have no issue with competition but if one of our (i.e. TurnKey's) images is broken, please let us know ASAP so we can fix it. We may even already have a workaround! If it's a support type issue then please use our forums. If it's clearly a bug then please create a new issue on...
The CentOS forum is back up. So here is the link to the driver I used IIRC: http://www.touslesdrivers.com/index.php?v_page=23&v_code=34178&v_langue=en FWIW it was post #6 in that thread (link above). IIRC I didn't follow all the instructions in that thread (even if you were to try they wouldn't...
I didn't have any luck with that either. I'm not sure but I suspect that it is due to the fact that the open source driver is intended for later kernel versions than what is included in PVE.The link I provided above had all the info that you will need (it got my system up and running no...
Around this time, or soon after I also started having issues with the WebUI not loading. It would come good after a reboot but would again start playing up soon after. As it turns out, this seems to have been the early signs of a HDD failure. The drive finally failed yesterday but after a...
Starting deferred execution scheduler: atd [failed!]
appears during boot (quite late).
If I try to start it manually it gives basically the same message:
Starting deferred execution scheduler: atd failed!
If I try to run atd in debug mode:
atd -d

I have been using PVE for some time and have been really happy with it. I have recently migrated my Win2K3 server at work to a KVM VM running under PVE, as part of this I decided to start taking advantage of the snapshot setup in PVE (which I haven't used previously).
I have 2 HDDs (sda & sdb)...
Have you tried reinstalling the 2.6.24 kernel. As I said in the edit of my initial post after reinstall of the kernel it all worked fine again. I'm not really clear what happened or why things broke but its all good for me again now. I simply used the following command and all was well:
apt-get...
Re: [Solved] KVM VMs not starting after apt-get upgrade
It may well have been useful if I'd done that while it wasn't working, could've then worked out what happened perhaps? Anyway here it is:
proxmox:~# pveversion -v
pve-manager: 1.5-9 (pve-manager/1.5/4728)
running kernel: 2.6.24-11-pve...
[Solved] KVM VMs not starting after apt-get upgrade
I just did an apt-get upgrade (on a PVE 1.5 machine) and since then all my KVM containers won't start. They just say "Starting SeaBIOS" like this:
and they use 96-102% CPU. I tried making a new one and it does the same. I didn't pay a lot of...
Thanks Tom, I had forgotten about DAB. I looked at it ages ago (when I first started playing with PVE and TKL) and dismissed it as at that point I was just too much of a Linux noob and didn't really understand what I was doing. Now with 12mths of playing under my belt I probably need to have...
I have been using TKL OpenVZ templates on PVE for ages now. They work well.
There are some (unoffical) TKL OpenVZ templates (forum topic here) and also my 'how to' create TKL OpenVZ templates on the TKL Wiki. I installed to KVM then converted it to a template, works sweet!
PS Tom - I followed...
Hi, Just wanted to let you know I had the same problem as the OP but renaming all my templates resolved it so thanks heaps.
Perhaps for the next upgrade you could include a script to automatically change the name of any templates that exist in the default location?
Cheers.
+1 for retaining OpenVZ (alongside KVM).
For me this is a complete no brainer. I only use KVM for Win VMs (and I only have 1 of those presently although have done some testing in the past). I don't care what benchmarks may say in the real world (at least on my server) the performance advantage...
Hi,
I just wanted to say that I've been testing Proxmox VE for about a week now and I am very impressed. It's so easy to install and configure.
What a winner!
