using USB Hard drive to store backups

Seems like I had a typo on the nfs share config. I can now see all my backups from all the VMs. This is the greatest ever .. One last question, once I reformat the hosts with new proxmox version, will I have any privileges error (on the usb drive)? (I am going to use same user - root- and...

using USB Hard drive to store backups

That makes a lot of sense and it is exactly what I was afraid of. That's why I had not formatted yet. would the proper procedure be? 1: Stop backups to this /mnt/external mount 2: Delete the backups (or scp them to the USB drive directly from terminal?) 3: remove /mnt/external from the cluster...

vm migrate partially, leaving disks behind

English is not my mother or first language either, thus more emphasis on care. ==> You are correct, maybe misused the word, but I assumed that in order to automatically migrate (as stated due to a problem with host) replication working was assumed. As explained, this host that failed (name is...

vm migrate partially, leaving disks behind

I appreciate that all the support here is free, and I really appreciate the great work that Proxmox has done for the community, but I do not appreciate the lack of interest that you guys (Proxmox Staff Members) show to the community of people that for now can not afford to pay for the support...

vm migrate partially, leaving disks behind

I found somewhat solution. Since the drives were still on the original host, but I couldn't move them, I tried moving the config files, which did not work either, but I made copy of the content (cat xxxx.conf) and created a new one (new id) on the original host where the HDs are (vi zzzz.conf)...

vm migrate partially, leaving disks behind

I had a problem with one of the hosts, the HA worked fine, for 5 vms, but 2 others the HDs did not migrate (stayed on the original VM). The hosts is now ok, Now when I try to start the VMs, I get the following error. ================================================ TEXT COPIED HERE FROM...

    Replication not happening, help.

Thanks Tom. I wish I could afford to pay for commercial support, but my budget at this moment does not allow for the 1,500 euros of the basic.. Maybe in a year if this finally takes off and I can actually stop putting money into this organization. This may sound stupid to people that know so...

Hi, the timer shows active on all nodes. I tried removing the jobs that were not working, and now it is just stuck on pending, does not let me create new ones.

    Replication not happening, help.

I do not understand what has happened, I have 3 hosts. all 3 running same version 5.0.23. All 3 on ZFS. Replication worked fin for a while accross the hard drives of one host to the other, but now it is stuck on 2 of the hosts. In the images attached, == vm1 no longer exists, it was...

    Replication Failure

I am going y and can not find a solution. Since I could no longer user zfs destroy to delete the files (and I did not know which files I had to delete anyhow) I tried following what was told in another thread, create a backup, move the file, restore with new ID. All that worked perfectly, but...

hmm, ZFS tool ... that I have no idea :) I guess I have research to do , did I mess it up by deleting in terminal with a simple rm ?

    Replication Failure

Hi, thanks for the reply and for the info about known problems, I could live with these problems if the solution of manually deleting the previous replications worked, but it seems it does not. I deleted all the vm-101-* both from "/dev/zvol/rpool/data" and from "/dev/rpool/data" then...

    Replication Failure

Hi, I have a 3 node system, all Dell 610 with 128 gb ram and 3tb HD on ZFS. I had started several VMs in all 3 servers, 2 or 3 each), each Vm replicating to the other 2 servers, and also setup HA, to all the VMs in a circular mode, So VMs on 1, would HA to 2 and then 3, VMs on 2 will HA to 3...

Memory usage more than summary of VMs

I Have 128 gb on each of the 3 servers and was planning on using about 84 (12gb *7 vm) to 108 (12 gb *9 vm) on each one, leaving plenty for management and in case one of the servers goes down, be able to split the load to the others. Rhinox, and the others, I really appreciate all the help :)
