Yeah, I love these things. The R2 models were 'flakey', but when you got one that worked, it beat everything else on the market. Only difference was that others were not bootable and tripple the price.
My problem is that it appears that the only 'bootable' o/s for that card ( at the moment ) is CentOS. And my goal is to have this technology with proxmox. So with proxmox 'not' putting any custom device drivers in their stuff,... and ocz not having it detected or bootable via Debian... I'm still stuck. ( like you ).
The good news is that the 'Velo' drive still uses a version of lsi sas that DOES work and IS bootable and detectable. ( unfortunately the velo drive is not as fast as the r4 z-drive ). So i'm stuck with the velo drive until they get their you know what, together.
I might be able to use this card in one of our database servers though. Let me speak with the owner about it. He won't be in until next week.
