I've been speaking with OCZ about this for a while after, of course, investigating the solid state storage arena for numerous years. So far there are only a handful of mfg's that are producing 'bootable' solid state storage devices via PCIe controller card, and OCZ is still beating them all...

Not to mention folks,... OCZ is releasing a CloudServ product ( PCIe X8 in an x16 size card )... that is boasting perhaps the fastest speeds (again) of all SSD technology. 6GB speed, almost 1.5 million iops etc... but it's very expensive. Probably around 10 grand. But I digress.

All this reading. LOL. Okay, seriously folks. ANYBODY got the Z-Drive R4 to install in proxmox yet ? I'm dying here. I'd LOVE to see the results we get in proxmox, that we get using it on a dedicated server with CentOS 6.2 Also, for those of you who can settle with 'less' performance, ocz offers...

Just to be clear guys,... I was not looking for info on the 'revo' or 'velo' drive, but the 'z-drive' in particular. Anyone using the z-drive R4 - please let me know.

I've been using the OCZ Z-Drive technology for a few years now, and am VERY happy with it. It basically outperforms everything out there AND is bootable. one trick is that the entire drive is a pci-e controller card ( no cables, no drives, no bays ) etc... and can reach intense speeds. Long...

FOUND IT. Apparently my /etc/resolv.conf was not keyed in correctly. tinkered with it a bit,... then did a /etc/init.d/networking restart and 'voila. It's all working fine now. Thanks for the head's up on the scsi vs. virtio. I think there was an issue in the past where virtio did not work...
