After inspecting the hardware it looks like the Perc H355 is only capable of write-through, since it has no cache & no BBU. I suspect this to be the culprit. What is my best course of action now, considering the hardware cannot be changed? Shall I use software RAID?

I think an option per VM, right under the "start at boot", with a "guest action on host shutdown" that defaults to "stop" but can be set to "hibernate/suspend", sounds more prudent than "all/none". One could have some VMs that do not hibernate well, or that are not problematic to be stopped.

Hello, Bumping the thread as well. Why is there no option "per vm" where one could choose "hibernate on shutdown" ? It sounds super simple to implement (all commands are available), and heavily requested, yet we keep on having to manually hibernate vms prior to shutting down. I love Proxmox...

For Windows VMs the boot circle spins, endlessly. It's not stuck at all.

Hello, We have the same problem on several of our customers 7.1 installs. Windows VMs are stuck after a reboot following Windows Update. This is very problematic since it can disrupt many services. It doesn't seem to affect our 5.x and 6.x customers though.

I can do that, but being overly paranoid, I just need to be sure, will it maintain 100% functionality of the VM while the backup is in progress? It's probably an obvious question, but I'm really beginning with live snapshots and all that, and I can't take any chance to disrupt people's work...
