Hot to resize VM's disk properly? Df -h still shows LVM uses previous size

Not OP, but thanks, this was exactly what I needed ;)

High IO Delay on Synology NFS restore

After inspecting the hardware it looks like the Perc H355 is only capable of write-through, since it has no cache & no BBU. I suspect this to be the culprit. What is my best course of action now, considering the hardware cannot be changed? Shall I use software RAID?

High IO Delay on Synology NFS restore

I just stumbled upon this thread about the 6.2 kernel: https://forum.proxmox.com/threads/opt-in-linux-6-2-kernel-for-proxmox-ve-7-x-available.124189/ Could that be the source of my problem? In case it is not, can I easily rollback? Edit: Replying to myself. I tried to install the 6.2 kernel...

High IO Delay on Synology NFS restore

Hello, I checked the forum to see if someone had issues like this one, but could not find clear answers, even if a lot of people encountered similar issues. I have a brand new Dell R350 with 4x2TB Ironwolfs on a PERC H355 setup as RAID 10, and 64GB of RAM. This is a band new PVE 7 install, to...

How does one set up Proxmox to suspend on shutdown?

I think an option per VM, right under the "start at boot", with a "guest action on host shutdown" that defaults to "stop" but can be set to "hibernate/suspend", sounds more prudent than "all/none". One could have some VMs that do not hibernate well, or that are not problematic to be stopped.

How does one set up Proxmox to suspend on shutdown?

Hello, Bumping the thread as well. Why is there no option "per vm" where one could choose "hibernate on shutdown" ? It sounds super simple to implement (all commands are available), and heavily requested, yet we keep on having to manually hibernate vms prior to shutting down. I love Proxmox...

Windows VMs stuck on boot after Proxmox Upgrade to 7.0

For Windows VMs the boot circle spins, endlessly. It's not stuck at all.

Windows VMs stuck on boot after Proxmox Upgrade to 7.0

Hello, We have the same problem on several of our customers 7.1 installs. Windows VMs are stuck after a reboot following Windows Update. This is very problematic since it can disrupt many services. It doesn't seem to affect our 5.x and 6.x customers though.

    VZDump and samba/NFS shares

Okay, that is perfectly clear, thank you very much.

    VZDump and samba/NFS shares

Wow, that was an interesting reply. Was that ironic or just good old condescension?

Hello, Is anyone able to answer my question, please? Thanks in advance.

    VZDump and samba/NFS shares

Hello, Maybe it is stated somewhere but I can't seem to find it, so here is my question: I have a client running an old Proxmox 2.3-13. I am running Zarafa on a Debian 6 qemu. I want to schedule a daily zarafa-backup of the mailboxes on an external samba share. How does vzdump handle...

Backup failed on VM with error "backup_complete_cb -5"

Hello, Sorry for my late reply, and thank you very much for your help. I ticked the "no backup" box on the "unused disk", earlier tonight. It activated the disk (i did not expect that), adding the "no backup" option to it. I let the midnight backup job do its thing, it did not change a...

Backup failed on VM with error "backup_complete_cb -5"

I can do that, but being overly paranoid, I just need to be sure, will it maintain 100% functionality of the VM while the backup is in progress? It's probably an obvious question, but I'm really beginning with live snapshots and all that, and I can't take any chance to disrupt people's work...

Backup failed on VM with error "backup_complete_cb -5"

Thank you for you reply. I see the disk as "unused disk 0" local:100/vm-100-disk-4.raw the "no backup" option is not ticked. I don't know why it is here really, I see it in windows as a small unallocated partition of Disk 2. But the log says that it skipped it anyway, so maybe that is not the...
