Password length check

creating a PVE I can give a password, in my case 7 chars, when I try to change the password later it have to be 8 chars. That is not consistant and I would like to change that minimum length. But where?

Hello,

You can't, the minimum size for password is hardcoded to be 8 characters, but it used to be 5. The change was introduced in 8.3, please see our changelog [1].

Just FYI, after you finish the installation you can just change your root password in the shell using passwd, there's no restrictions on that.
