[SOLVED] Restoring Process → From BPS

Hello,

Since I am in the process of testing PBS trying to know how it works, I went throng the documentation seted the GC/Garbage Collection to → Daily and Prune Schedule Once a Week on Sat at → 18:15. I want to keep my last 7 Copies as well.

AND BACKINGUP everyday at 00:00. All is clear to me till here.


My question is about the Restoration of the backups because it's incremental and I have never done that before. I want to know which backup file should I restore if needed?

I am confused because my first backup took almost 3 hours for 231 GB and the Second one took 5sec :cool:

What I want to understand lets say Ill delete manually the first backup. then will restore it from the second backed up point.

Does the second copy has got all the data same as the first one?

Sorry to bother you but I want to understand what is not clear to me!

@fabian I decided to delete the first backup and restore it from the second copy. I was able to restore it successfully and checked all seems to be good.

But the only thing I felt strange during the process it did twice "download and verify index"! and was longer than usual restoration on PVE. see below screenshots

on a recent enough PVE there is a checkbox in the restore dialogue.
