Have not been getting a confirmation on a scheduled daily backup for days

First of all I love Proxmox. here is the problem we experienced: One of the servers has not been doing its scheduled backup. We normally get a confirmation email of each back up job. We upgraded the server to the latest version 1.8 and rebooted and still no luck. What do we need to check?

Thanks,

take a look in the syslog and vzdump logs (/var/log/vzdump)

I checked /var/log/vzdump and all logs are from older back up when worked. Not sure about checking syslog. Do you mean /var/log/messages? If so nothing is stated about vzdump. Where exactly is the scheduled job entry in cron jobs?

Thanks,

check /var/log/syslog

you will find one file for the each day (will be stored 7 days).

I checked the syslog file. There is only one file. I searched for dump and vzdump and could not find anything. I am trying to figure out the OS files involved with Proxmox backup schedule and find the exact command and run it interactive. Maybe that will tell me what the problem is. We had this issue and by rebooting the server the problem went away however it would be a good idea to diagnose by running interactive.

# see /etc/cron.d/vzdump

to debug, try to run those command manually.

Thanks for the tip. Here is what we get when run the command interactive:

vzdump --quiet --node 1 --suspend --compress --storage vpshost145backups --mailto support@webservio.com 106 108 110 114

unable to parse pveca info at /usr/sbin/vzdump line 114.

This is a standalone machine and is not even in cluster.

Also the proxmox system info:
