Hi,

I'm having many problems shutting down OpenVZ machines: Simply logging from web java console and executing "halt" command to shutdown machine a few times and All de node goes down. Same behaviour stopping it from web control panel.

Sometimes the node recover status in about five minutes, othertimes it never goes up and needs a manual power cycle.

I've checked it in several servers and hardware config. It's happen in both, 1.7 and 1.8 proxmox version and in 'at least' Debian 5 and 6 templates.

# pveversion -v
pve-manager: 1.8-15 (pve-manager/1.8/5754)
running kernel: 2.6.32-4-pve
proxmox-ve-2.6.32: 1.8-32
pve-kernel-2.6.32-4-pve: 2.6.32-32
qemu-server: 1.1-30
pve-firmware: 1.0-11
libpve-storage-perl: 1.0-17
vncterm: 0.9-2
vzctl: 3.0.24-1pve4
vzdump: 1.2-11
vzprocps: 2.0.11-2
vzquota: 3.0.11-1
pve-qemu-kvm: 0.14.0-3
ksm-control-daemon: 1.0-5

If you need more information about how to replicate the crash, please tell me.

Thanks :)

Hi Dietmar, thanks for your fast reply,

I mean all the node (proxmox server) crash, not only vps: Black screen an server freeze with a lot of hd act (blink led). And sometimes it recovers uptime in about five minutes but in many cases it goes down forever.

I use it only for OpenVZ, so im installing the pve 2.6.18 kernel which i believe has full support for VZ core team.

I think this post is about similar problem:

maybe a hardware issue?

Problem its located and reproduced in an 'out of the box' environment. I think its a security issue, so im going to tell you in private message.

Regars,

Jesús Feliz.

Dear Friends,

Same issue happend to me yesterday :(

I was working with one openvz VM, then I had to reboot that machine, then I hace been waiting for the startup but, Some message appear in Proxmox WEb Panel: "nosync" (As I am using clustering feature with another nodes (servers) )

The Node (that was hosting the OpenVZ machine) stopped working, conectivity lost, zero access. I have problem because that node is out of my office and can not see Console messages.

Please, it seems tobe a bug. Could someone confirm that? Any idea what to do?

Regards
