I have one VM that is running fine of Virtual Box. I have the .vdi file from Virtual Box. Is there any way I can convert or export it away from Virtual Box so it will work with Proxmox?

Thanks for the link. I still don't see how to migrate from Virtual Box to Proxmox...could I use the directions for XEN or VMWARE?

if you do not answer my question I cannot guide you.

Sorry, the VM is a Windows 7 OS.

I suggest you make a copy, then remove any virtual box tools and power off. then use the clonezilla live-cds (see our migration page).
does this work for you?

I've done exactly that to one win2008 machine. Deleted vbox guest additions, made an image of the HDD from a LiveCD, then restored it using the same LiveCD inside proxmox.

You can also see what hardware vbox emulates, and set similar hardware in a KVM guest, if your vbox machine has a SATA drive and you set an IDE one in KVM, the windows guest modt probably won't boot. The rest is not that crytical.
