Hello everybody!
I've got Dell PE1950 - 1 x Intel Xeon E5310 1,6GHz (4 cores) for testing. Proxmox version 1.5 updated yesterday to the newest modules and kernel. I've made new KVM VM from vmware and changed settings about CPUs - CPU sockets : 1, Cores/Socket : 4.
Inside VM (Windows Server 2003 32bit R2) CPU-Z shows 1 processor with 1 core. Inside "device manager" i've got 4 processors. In Tas manager there is only one CPU. When I fireup cpu test on Sandra software, cpu in windows loads to 100% but proxmox host i load about 25%.
I've changed CPU sockets : 4, Cores/Socket : 1 or CPU sockets : 2, Cores/Socket : 2 resault is the same as above :-( WHY?
I would like to all the VMs could loads 100% CPU of proxmox host.
Is there any chance to do that?

PS. Sorry for my bad english.

Did you make sure you shutdown and restarted after changing the number of VPUs? Rebooting isn't enough....

Now I've fired up another VM with WinXP and there are 1CPU wtih 4 cores :-)
But in the first VM there is only 1CPU with 1Core... strange...
Maybe there is something wrong with this converted VM?

check device manager in windows, compute type: should be "ACPI Mulitprocessor PC"

What kernel version do you run? You probably need a newer kernel for full SMP support (2.6.24 or 2.6.32).

An what is the output of
