Hi all,

I am trying to add a nod eto a new cluster. All proxmox are update to date. I created the cluster at the first node successfully:
root@px1:~# pvecm status
Quorum information
------------------
Date: Fri Aug 10 18:55:06 2018
Quorum provider: corosync_votequorum
Nodes: 1
Node ID: 0x00000001
Ring ID: 1/8
Quorate: Yes
Votequorum information
----------------------
Expected votes: 1
Highest expected: 1
Total votes: 1
Quorum: 1
Flags: Quorate
Membership information
----------------------
Nodeid Votes Name
0x00000001 1 10.11.20.17 (local)

My corosync config for the node is:
node {
name: px1
nodeid: 1
quorum_votes: 1
ring0_addr: px1-ring0
ring1_addr: px1-ring1
}

Now, I went to the second node, which is supposed to be identical to the first and I do:

root@px2:~# pvecm add px1-ring0 -ring0_addr px2-ring0 -ring1_addr px2-ring1
Please enter superuser (root) password for 'px1-ring0':
Password for root@px1-ring0: *****************
Etablishing API connection with host 'px1-ring0'
500 500 Can't connect to px1-ring0:8006
root@px2:~#

Am I doing something wrong?
px2 *can* connect to px1... I don't understand why it can't.

root@px2:~# telnet px1-ring0 8006
Trying 10.11.20.17...

root@px2:~#

root@px2:~# ssh root@px1-ring0
root@px1-ring0's password:
Linux px1 4.15.18-1-pve #1 SMP PVE 4.15.18-17 (Mon, 30 Jul 2018 12:53:35 +0200) x86_64

Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Thanx,

Hi,

Well, yes multicast does work. I haven't configured PIM but it should work fine on a same subnet/vlan situation like mine.

The logs don't say anything other than "pvecm[251672]: 500 500 Can't connect to px1-ring0:8006" on px2 (wannabe cluster member).
There are no logs on px1 (cluster master).

I'm trying to evaluate the info in the link you sent, but at a first glance it is not a certificate problem.

hi all,

I reinstalled all nodes and get the same behaviour again....
I am starting to think this is a bug... Does anyone have created a cluster with the latest (updated to this day) version of proxmox?
I created the cluster with the command:
pvecm create clustername --ring0_addr 10.11.20.17 --ring1_addr 10.11.20.33 --bindnet0_addr 10.11.20.16 --bindnet1_addr 10.11.20.32

One question: what should i put in the bindnet0_addr? The network (10.11.20.16) or the IP of the interface (10.11.20.17)? The manual has both versions...

Ok, you may disregard all this thread. It was the MTU of the switch at fault. The MTU of all proxmox interfaces was 9K and the switch was not.

Cheers,
