Move from LVM to Shared Storage

We have a issue where LVM's continue to fail so we want to move from LVM based to File based on shared storage.

Has anyone done this successfully without having to reboot the VM?

you can move a disk image without shuting down the VM from the GUI, e.g. we did move many images for migration from NFS to CEPH without any hassle online.
