Remove cluster from proxmox 4 node

I tried to set up clustering on a proxmox4 node, but then decided it wasn't going to work. However, afterwards strange things began happeneing and I had to reboot the node. Now when I go to start VMs it says, "cluster not read - no quorum? (500)".

How do I remove all vestiges of cluster configuration so that I can run the node as a standalone again?

The suggested way is to reinstall the node. Also see

What does this mean for the 12 containers I have on the node? It wasn't immediately clear if I could re-install the node while preserving those containers.

Please make a backup of those containers, so that you can restore them later.
