I can reproduce this on a test node (a PVE VM, q35 + OVMF), so it's not just your hardware.
On 7.0.14-19 (and -17) everything is fine. rtc_cmos picks up the clock and hwclock works:
On 7.0.14-20 /dev/rtc0 is gone and I get the same hwclock...
I am seeing very similar behavior, but I I think I might know what is causing mine, and I'm wondering if anyone here has a solution.
To summarize:
- brand new Windows 11 VM with timezone US/Pacific.
- VM uses "Default" localtime for RTC (ie...
lvm-thin is an abstraction, and is not meant to be cloned. For ext4, if you changed sector sizes for example, between 512 and 4k that could maybe cause some of the issues you're seeing bc the underlying topology has changed...
I have a similar issue with the following hardware:
Mainboard: Supermicro H12SSL-NT
NIC: Broadcom BCM57416 NetXtreme-E 10GBase-T Ethernet
Since I updated to the latest kernel, 7.0.14-20-pve, it happened two times:
First occurrence was 1.5...
I'm doing frequent proxmox updates, today I've noticed much higher CPU usage of VMs (linux and BSD) after yesterday upgrade. I've checked that kernel was updated to 7.0.14-20-pve, but reverting the issue remains. After I downgraded pve-qemu-kvm...
Same here with 7.0.14-20-pve (7.0.14-19-pve works including switch back to it).
Broadcom BCM57416 NetXtreme-E 10GBase-T Ethernet on a Supermicro Server.
Logs are attached.
you're right that pbs does does not store multiple media sets on a single tape and every backup made with it is fully deduplicated (within one media set)
The idea here is that a media-set is the smallest consistent unit, so we'd recommend having...
Since you've already tried adding the nut user to the dialout group and it didn't work, you might be running into a classic Debian upgrade trap: interference from the brltty service.
I checked my own Proxmox 9 lab environment (which was a fresh...
The performance governor might be the reason why your cores are running at higher frequencies and therefore hot. FWIW I'm using the powersave governor and my cores run very cool with undetectable performance penalty.
This is what I used to run...
The safe ways is to create a new (smaller) VM and copy over only the data that your need (and fits). If you feel adventurous then search the forum for shrinking virtual disks, which depends on the OS inside the VM, filesystem type inside the VM...
Whatever you need the new one to have. As leesteken tried to explain, the answer is going to be drastically different for different situations. For example, if this disk contains a windows installation, just copying the files won't cut it, you...
Hallo beisammen.
Is there any proper way to complete remove KAM spamassassin rules? It causes more trouble to us than actually filter spams. Currently I have to override a few KAM spam scores that I saw causing troubles.
In one extreme case, a completely...
Version 8.0.x of PMG is old. Very old. v8.1 was released back in Feb 2024, then 8.2 in Feb 2025, and 9.0, then 9.1 since.
The only real advice I could give would be to start the upgrade path to see if this has been resolved in the 2+ years of...
There were only 2 governors available, performance and powersave. The default is performance. I changed it to powersave to see if there was any difference, but changed it back to performance.
I'll have to dig a bit more concerning how to install...
