For those interested on moving from PXVirt (8.x) to PVE 9,
I successfully upgraded my Ampere box from the PXVirt port to PVE 9.2.10 by following the upgrade steps for 8 to 9 and the Raspberry Pi 5 instructions:
pve8to9 showed what needed to be...
That's easy: get two "Enterprise class" NVMe with PLP. (But prepare for a heart attack while looking up prices.)
Then run everything on this single mirrored vdev - on ZFS of course. You asked for "best performance" - and personally I do always...
ZVOLs also use CoW (like everything else on ZFS, which also makes it relatively slow) and new metadata especially never overwrites old metadata. It's always written separately and only when it's actually on the drive (synchronously) then the old...
@dcsapak unfortunately for my pbs 4.2.2 it doesn't work

I manually have to do

I just ran into a very similar (identical?) problem you're describing here.
Hardware: MSI PRO B850M-A WIFI (MS-7E66), AMD Ryzen 9 9900X, AMD RX 9070 XT
OS: Proxmox VE 9.2.11, kernel 7.0.14-16-pve
Flashed my MSI motherboard (was on BIOS version...
Problem is not that there are so many snaps. I think they are a tool and should be used whenever it makes sense.
But one by one removal is not nice for PVE admins as well as for users that created those snaps.
If we could select and remove...

@bbgeek17 no disagreement. I was simply pointing out that the premise that a full node fence is required isnt necessarily true for the proposed solution to work. I'm not suggesting its easy, not fraught with gaping holes, probably too slow to be...
Sorry, I missed the forum name - that documentation/procedure is for the PVE Cluster.
If you have collection of single nodes under PDM, take a look at this thread:

The 16GB Optane might be useful as a SLOG or a special device (but the redundancy must at least match the data redundancy).
I fear that the 58GB and especially the 375GB might be hybrid drives with 2 PCIe lanes connected to a small Optane and...
It did, but barely, it saved me 4-6 watt's at most and it was only due to enable-C states and PCI-E L0s en L1. But that made the system unstable. For a Zen3 cpu en B550 motherboard I STRONLY recommend to disable C-States and PCI-e power states...

1) MRTG (Multi Router Traffic Grapher) https://oss.oetiker.ch/mrtg/
A basic one.
For switches, routers [edit: and network printers] etc.: you can graph (and monitor for values exceeding thresholds) any data which a device can show with...

This is not a cluster, just individual nodes that have been brought into datacenter manager. I came across that command but since it wasn't a cluster wasn't sure if that was still the process. I assume that is the process for none cluster nodes also?
Hmm, I was under the impression that a special vdev wasn't particularly useful, as most data is in zvols anyway. But maybe I am wrong.
Why is ZFS so difficult? Now I get all crazy frankenstein setups in my head. Maybe divvy up the 58gb as 50%...
Hi @bishoptf ,
Have you checked the cluster guide? https://pve.proxmox.com/pve-docs/chapter-pvecm.html#_remove_the_cluster_node

I have a remote node that I am trying to remove that has already been physically removed, error message is - "api error (status = 400: error deleting token: connection failed: client error (Connect))"
Thats the error message that I receive from...
Hi all!
What pretentious title for this post ! :) Sorry for that but I want to sahre the frustration that I had (or maybe my completly false misunderstanding) for that proxmox backup client tool.
First, let me say that I really like PBS as a...
