we have proxmox-backup-server 3.4.9-2 running version: 3.4.9 (yes i know; we'll be upgrading soon) and it's been absolutely stellar up till now. but today, when i went to restore a vm, i got restore image complete (bytes=540672, duration=0.22s...
Hi Everyone;
After I executed the "multipath -a xxxxxx" command, an error occurred with local-lvm "no such logical volume pve/data (500)".
Please help me, Thanks!
Please write your Dell representative and ask them for proper PVE support. The more people ask this, maybe they'll work something out. Unless this happens and maybe hell frozes over, I fully agree with @bbgeek17.
Hi @Jianming , you can now use PVE with iSCSI storage with LVM overlay and snapshots.
However, thin provisioning will need to come from the array at this point in time.

I don't know the specific reason. But basically: (PCI-bus)- interface names are not stable. They may mutate on hardware changes and on the advent of new kernel modules.
That's why "pinning" was introduced...
As I import a ESXi VM (rhel 9.5 based, 300gb single disk), from a vmfs datastore, it imports the vm, but as I boot the vm it fails to boot. I can boot from the rescue kernel and get in and rebuild the initramfs using dracut --regenerate-all -f...

Being a cluster aware filesystem for starters. Everything else stems from that requirement.
All the supported volume manager / file systems for Proxmox are non-cluster aware, meaning they intrinsically assume the host has explicate and...
Agreed, but for those who did not, at least there seems to be some path to a partial recovery.

Hello,
I have a problem in that my 2TB drive, which is visible in lsblk, dropped out of my Data02 LVM config. I'm not sure when this happened. I suspect that it happened during my upgrade to 9?
Anyway I did the chat thing, ran a bunch of...
Hi,
I followed the "changing a failed bootable device" procedure. I did this because smartd started warning me daily about 24 offline uncorrectable sectors (and then went down to 16).
While the resilver, I saw some failures on the *new* drive...

The Linux kernel has had at least 500 CVE's fixed per release (before LLMs) and your PVE 7 kernel (5.15?) is many version behind, so either one could potentially be the entry point. Whether you had a good password is irrelevant. Proxmox fixed...
PVE 7 and the Debian version it sits on went end of life over two (corrected from three) years ago. The list of vulnerabilities discovered and patched since then is going to be a mile long.
It would even be a bad idea to expose a fully patched...
