Yes that is the plan. I had previously searched for issues with Windows 2022 where a number had been deleted and this one for instance is no doubt later found to be virtio driver? Searching for 2025 finds more...
ah interesting. thanks for looking that up for me. interesting idea, i may give that a shot. at least see if thats what is causing the brief link reset. thank you.
UPDATE: finally got back to this. this worked perfectly. picked a debug...
OK, so I did not realize it could be done using the command line. Every tutorial I looked up for how to make a directory/ZFS always used the UI, and whenever I did try to use the shell, no commands I used worked. That is because I didn't realize...
true.
If you want to buy an 18 wheeler for haul groceries thats your call- it doesnt mean you need an 18 wheeler. match the solution to the problem. Not every usecase benefits.
Thats an argument for a newer drive, not for a plp. technology...
Ja, auch Dir danke für Deine Meinung und Deine unendliche Mühe hier im Thread. Bringst mich echt weiter, muss man Dir lassen. Hat da auch tatsächlich User hier die weiter helfen. Auf Deinen Senf hingegen kann ich gerne verzichten!

The ability to cache/delay sync writes (and the performance improvement that comes with it) is not possible with a UPS. The drive itself needs to know that it can delay writes safely. Otherwise, it cannot and you have to wait for the data to be...
That's why I was asking. :) 0.1.271 seems optimal though 0.1.266 is OK, AFAIK, also. But higher up that wiki page it says "Currently, there are no known issues for version virtio-win 0.1.271."
Thanks, will yes that sounds almost certain then. I'll grab the version numbers. Id seen few other similar posts but not that one. How on earth such a driver is still in existence I don't know!
It might actually be better to have a DRAM cache than a DRAM-less solution that uses the host’s memory as an HMB.
The main point of discussion above wasn’t that PLP is used to protect against data loss, but rather whether you actually need an...

For home lab, it's whatever you want, or need, I suppose. But with software RAID, for simpler troubleshooting and recovery from faults, I would lean towards a mirrored array for boot, rather than single parity, dual parity or even RAID10.
So...
Kommt drauf an, was man unter "gehen" versteht. Die Anforderung kommt daher, dass corosync empfindlich auf Latenzen regiert. Ist die einzige Netzwerkleitung also mit Migrations-, Replikations- oder sonstigen Datenverkehr ausgelastet gerät...
i have some servers connected via shared idrac when ethernet ports in a rack are at a premium. i swear this used to work (but i may be making it up), normally via dell idrac i can mount whatever iso over the one connected ethernet port and boot...
Das nenne ich Mut zur Lücke. Du willst ein Geschäftsmodell aufziehen und dein Wissen beziehst du aus schwindeligen KI-Statements und Nachfragen in einem Forum.
Respekt! Soviel Chuzpe muss man erstmal mitbringen.
Not immutable, but you can:
- protect each backup
- do not run gc / prune
Furthermore: you can create a user account fpr pve usage, which has the rights "backup". this user can only write (delvier), protect and restore backups, but not delete.
